Storyboard 3

Open the Storyboard configuration (File - Scripts - Storyboard Configuration) and click on the Advanced tab and EDIT the Advanced Settings.  You will see a place to enter your copyright information.  This information will be written into the metadata of all the Storyboard's you create.

Storyboard 2 and below

Did you know you can alter some Advanced Settings to extend the functionality of Storyboard?  In this how to guide, we will describe how to use Advanced Settings to add your copyright information to your Storyboard's metadata.

If you drill into the Storyboard folder (the one that you installed in the Photoshop scripts folder) you will eventually find an "include" folder. Open this "include" folder an look for a file called "Advanced Settings.inc". Please open this file in any standard text editing app (text mate, text edit, etc). You will see a number of paragraphs that have advanced setting conditions in them. For example, you can look for this phrase:

//If you want to write copyright information to the IPTC fields of your storyboarded images, change the following settings
var WRITE_COPYRIGHT_INFO = true;
var COPYRIGHT_MESSAGE = "Copyright ©";

In this situation you would put your copyright information that you want displayed in the quotations "Copyright ©".

//If you want to write copyright information to the IPTC fields of your storyboarded images, change the following settings
var WRITE_COPYRIGHT_INFO = true;
var COPYRIGHT_MESSAGE = "My Great Photography Business ©".

Enter your studio's information and save the file. It also helps to restart photoshop at this time. From now on all your Storyboard's will have this copyright metadata embedded within.
