Running Photoshop As An Administrator (Windows)

It's common to run into problems with Photoshop and scripts if you aren't running Photoshop as an Administrator under Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Run Photoshop once as an administrator

  1. Navigate to the install folder of Photoshop. For example, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\
  2. Right-click the program icon (the .exe file).
  3. Choose Run As Administrator.
  4. If you see a User Account Control prompt, accept it.

Permanently run Photoshop as an administrator

  1. Navigate to the program folder of the program you want to run. For example, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\
  2. Right-click the program icon (the .exe file).
  3. Choose Properties.
  4. On the Compatibility tab, select the Run This Program As An Administrator option.
  5. Click OK.
  6. If you see a User Account Control prompt, accept it.
